About the Product:
1: Can I wash a tieback?
No, our tiebacks are handmade and of a delicate structure, they should not be immersed in water or dry-cleaned, however they will benefit from a light steaming. Steam will restore the fullness of bullion fringe & straighten the skirt.
2: How can I restore the tieback to its former appearance?
A light steaming will restore it back to its former glory. A minute at most of a light burst of steam should remove most kinks in the yarn skirt. For more stubborn ones, brush the skirt with either a wide toothed brush or comb.
3: What is a Tieback Embrace and how do I measure it ?
The Embrace is the distance from your hook on the wall around your curtain & back again to the hook. This will vary depending upon the curtain size & the shape you wish to create with your tieback.
All our tiebacks are listed with the Embrace measurement, however if you want to make sure you get the same size as last time, Extend your tieback, with a loop in each hand, until the cord is fully taut, the distance between each hand is the embrace length.
4: What size tieback do I need?
First you will need to determine the Embrace size. Measure the distance from your hook on the wall, around your curtain and back to the wall. If you want to create more of a drape with the curtain you will need to allow extra length so that tieback hangs more loosely.
The tassel size listed is the size from the top of the tieback mould/tassel etc, to the bottom. It’s a matter of personal taste, but it’s usually the heavier or larger the curtain material, the larger the tassel size.
